ACEH SINGKIL - The Baru Mekar Farmers Group, supported by PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti (PT PLB), successfully held its first quality watermelon harvest in Gosong Telaga Selatan Village, North Singkil District, Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh, on Wednesday, July 24 2024.
Acting Head of the Aceh Singkil Regency Horticulture Food Crops and Livestock Service, Syam'un Nst, welcomed this success and explained that this harvest had a positive impact on the economy and welfare of farmers in the area.
"I am proud to see the quality watermelons produced by the Baru Mekar Farmers Group under the guidance of PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti and this is an achievement that deserves a thumbs up," said Syam'un, who attended the inaugural watermelon harvest event.
This success resulted from the hard work and perseverance of farmers in cultivating watermelon, plus the support of PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti in introducing the latest agricultural technology, sending superior fertilizer and seeds as well as training for local farmers to produce quality products.
On this occasion, Teguh AW as Public Relations of PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti emphasized the company's commitment to continuing to support farmer groups in Aceh Singkil, especially in the company's Ring 1 area.
"We are committed to continuing to support farmer group programs, including the Baru Mekar Farmer Group, to produce quality agricultural products and improve the welfare of local farmers through the PT PLB CSR program," said Teguh AW.
Meanwhile, the Chair of the Baru Mekar Farmers Group, Katimin, said that the watermelons harvested were the result of the high work spirit and seriousness of local farmers who are members of the Baru Mekar farmers group. "We are very enthusiastic about continuing to produce quality agricultural products," he said.
He also expressed his thanks to PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti and the Regional Government of Aceh Singkil Regency for the support and assistance they have provided.
