Aceh Singkil - Forest and land fires continue to threaten our environment. In a short time, uncontrolled forest logging fires can damage the flora and fauna that live in it and threaten human life.
Therefore, efforts to prevent forest and land fires are very important and must be continuously carried out by all parties, including the police.
On Friday night (19/7/2024), personnel from the Danau Paris Police Station successfully extinguished a fire that burned the land of one resident in Biskang Village, Danau Paris District, Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh.
The fire was detected through the Lancang Kuning application that provided early warnings to the police.
Following the report, personnel from the Danau Paris Police Station immediately went to the site to extinguish the fire and successfully put out the fire before it spread and caused greater damage.
The efforts made by the personnel of the Danau Paris Police station are commendable. In addition to providing a quick response, personnel from the Danau Paris Police Station also worked with local residents to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.
There were no human casualties in this incident, but it can open our eyes to the importance of preserving the environment by not using fire carelessly.
In a press release issued by the Aceh Singkil Police on Sunday (21/7/2024), Danau Paris Police Chief, IPDA Ardiansyah, SH, MH called on all residents to remain vigilant and immediately report if they see signs of fire around them.
"This effort is very important, because preventing forest and land fires is much easier than extinguishing them," said Ardiansyah.
In efforts to prevent forest and land fires, the Lancang Kuning application used by personnel from the Danau Paris Police Station can be a solution that can provide early warnings and fast detections.
This Lancang Kuning application is very helpful in increasing supervision of forests and land in Indonesia. However, the use of technology alone is not enough.
Other efforts such as preparedness and socialization to the community about the importance of preventing forest and land fires must also be continuously improved so that similar incidents can be prevented in the future.
