NKRITERKINI.COM, SERANG - In Griya Junti Asri, a sub-urban area in Bandung District, Banten Province, the locals gather to celebrate Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW. Though the celebration is simple, with only basic treats and meals as refreshments, the passion, enthusiasm, and camaraderie among the people are sincere and high-spirited.
The celebration started early in the morning, attended by various figures from both inside and outside the village, such as community and religious leaders, village officials, and youth organizations. Many attendees were thrilled to witness the procession and listen to the speeches given by notable speakers, including Ustadz Nurkholis Ahyat and Kyai Samani.
Nurkholis emphasizes that one of the benefits of celebrating Maulid Nabi is to maintain the bond of kinship between the people. Meanwhile, Kyai Samani highlights the main objective of this celebration, which is to introduce the figure of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to children and to learn from his conduct as adults.
During his speech, Kyai Serut reminded parents to set good examples by following the Prophet's teachings instead of only instructing their children to do so. These meaningful messages and insights deeply touched the attendees and motivated them to participate actively in the celebration.
The gathering culminated in a communal meal, which was the final program on the day before the attendees went their separate ways.
